Certified Parental Leave Coaching
(For Expecting Parents and Organizations)
I offer parental leave coaching for individuals, couples, and organizations, grounded in evidence, equity, and real-life caregiving dynamics.
Trained as a RETAIN Parental Leave Coach through the Center for Parental Leave Leadership, the gold standard in evidence-based, equity-rooted parental leave support.
Why Parental Leave Coaching?
Parental leave is one of the most powerful transitions families and workplaces navigate—and when it’s thoughtfully planned, the impact is lasting.
Research consistently shows that:
-
Paid parental leave supports maternal mental health and recovery, including reduced risk of postpartum depression.
-
When partners—especially fathers and non-birthing parents—take leave, there are measurable benefits for child development, relationship satisfaction, and long-term caregiving equity.
-
Organizations that support intentional parental leave planning see higher employee retention, stronger engagement, and reduced burnout.
In short: parental leave done well benefits parents, children, relationships, and workplaces.

What parental leave coaching can support

For individuals and couples:
-
Preparing emotionally and practically for leave
-
Completing the Parental Leave Transition Assessment (PLTA), the only evidence-based parental leave measurement tool in existence
-
Clarifying values, priorities, and expectations
-
Planning equitable caregiving and household roles
-
Supporting partners in being present, confident, and connected caregivers
-
Navigating return-to-work transitions with intention rather than overwhelm
For organizations and businesses:
-
Supporting employees before, during, and after parental leave
-
Building retention-focused leave cultures
-
Reducing burnout and turnover around caregiving transitions
-
Offering values-aligned, evidence-based parental leave education and support
My approach is evidence-informed, equity-rooted, and practical—designed to support families and systems at moments when care, clarity, and intention matter most.
Considering adding parental leave support?
If you’re already working with me as your doula and/or childbirth educator (lucky me!), parental leave coaching can be a meaningful extension of that care—especially if you’ve found yourself thinking “we’ll figure it out later” when it comes to leave, roles, or returning to work.
Many families don’t realize that parental leave planning is something they can get support with before things feel overwhelming. Adding a session or two can create space to slow down, get aligned, and make intentional choices—without pressure to have everything perfectly mapped out.
I recommend:
-
One additional prenatal session to talk through parental leave logistics, values, role-sharing, and communication. You will take the PLTA and we will use this as our personalized guide to supporting you.
-
One session before your return to work to support reintegration, boundaries, and hold space for this important transition into working parent.
If this feels like it could be helpful, please ask! We can decide together what kind of support makes sense for you.
If we’re not yet working together, shoot me an email that tells me a bit more about your situation, and we can make a plan from there.
